Books: Hometown Indiana

Surgeon Daly Walker retired from his active practice and some personally jolting experiences to reinvigorate his life and writing career in Indiana’s storied Brown County. With his companion artist Toni Wolcott, he refurbished a cabin on a hill and found himself revitalized by his interaction with the basic elements of nature: fire, water, air, shelter, stone and sound. The beautifully crafted essays in this book reveal with remarkable honesty a life in transition, with new values discovered and old ones refreshed in the heightened beauty of one of Indiana’s most spectacularly beautiful regions.
